Mind the psychic

Part of my New Year's resolutions, was to enjoy all that New York had to offer.

That's how I found myself, late on a Sunday night, at Employee's Only with a friend by my side, my hand in that of giggly Gilda, the psychic at the entrance of the bar.

My future holds many adventures. "You are like a cat with nine lives, and should not waste your time trying to be like everyone else," she told me. As Gilda was squiggling lines and circles onto my open hand, I wondered... 

What if she was just making everything up? How many people change their lives based on what she tells them?

Fortune tellers have a huge power and this session made me even more curious about what the future holds. All I can say is that I would never have thought about my future self the way she portrayed me. I kind of want to go see another one in a few months... If repeated, these predictions are going to make me feel completely lost. But intrigued, nonetheless.
